celticsavage - a safe place in an unsafe world!
I got a little bored around lunch today and was playing with the sloganizer. However this slogan fit perfectly, celticsavage - a safe place in an unsafe world! If you are my family or a friend you will find sanctuary in my home. Hospitality will be laid out according to the Hávamál and all that is requested is a tale and not wearing out your welcome.
However in the event of an emergency please don’t rely on the kindness of strangers, or worse the ineptitude of the state to take care of you in the event of an emergency. You alone are responsible for your personal safety. New Orleans got really nasty really quick and that is only because the population did not have the foresight to prepare for an emergency that they knew was coming eventually.
I know what you are thinking not in my back yard but what happens when it is in your back yard. St Louis didn’t expect there to be power outages last year for weeks but it happened one in the dead of winter and one in the heat of summer. People died and property was damaged only because they did not take appropriate precautions.
As Flawed as the system is http://ready.gov has some good info on how to start preparing for an emergency. Their info is broken up in 3 steps; 1 Get a kit, 2 Make a plan, & 3 be informed.
Ever wonder how fast California and Florida recover from catastrophic emergencies? Simple everyone has a earthquake kit or a hurricane kit. I am sure everyone chuckled when the news casters made fun of the suggestion of having duct tape in an emergency kit, but in reality have you ever seen one of those books that joke about all the different uses for it? Got a blown hose in your car? Dry it off and repair the leak with duct tape. Got some leaks around a window air conditioner Gee what is strong and will cover the cracks? DUCT TAPE! Remember reporters do not like for people to be happy and normal they need suffering and chaos to bring it to others in real time 24 hours a day every day. . If you are my family or a friend you will find sanctuary in my home. Hospitality will be laid out according to the Hávamál and all that is requested is a tale and not wearing out your welcome.
