Not too much going on
Wednesday, January 9th, 2008Had fire training last night. We did a refresher on initial examinations, ABC’s and vitals, treating for shock and strokes. The Board bought us all pizza and they popped the soda machine for complimentary beverages. It was kind of nice except for one thing. The current Chief put in his 2 weeks. He said he was fed up with the dept and the internal politics. I wish I knew what the hell happened, but I suspect it was some internal politics on how the dept was being run. I really don’t know. I really like him and hope that he remains my friend even if he wont be on the dept anymore.
That is one thing It is hard as hell to make friends in the country. The population is either in the 40-50+ or are teenagers. For the 20-30 somethings there really isn’t too much along the lines of quality friendships unless you went to school with em or are kin to their kin. Perhaps it is a trust issue. I am not sure. Perhaps I will just drop in on him from time to time to say what is up or find out how his sheep are doing.
